Launch of the Diakonia P.O.W.E.R. Project

Launched in Mutare in March 2026 during Women’s Month, the Diakonia-supported P.O.W.E.R. Project — Promoting Opportunities for Women’s Empowerment and Rights — works with girls and young women aged 10 to 35, both in and out of school, to strengthen leadership and challenge harmful cultural and social norms.

Murehwa: Reviving Livelihoods for Lasting Impact

A site assessment at the Mhoro Shamwari Empowerment Centre reviewed poultry, piggery and horticulture projects, with attention to infrastructure, irrigation and accountability.

Solar Dryers Drive Change in Murehwa

Women farmers are using solar dryers to preserve produce, reduce waste and sell at better times, supporting household income and girls’ education.

Hwedza: Breaking Stigma, Engaging Gatekeepers

The Pamoja Project Phase 2 engaged traditional leaders through the Dare Ramambo forum to promote SRHR and challenge stigma around abortion.

Get Involved

Support livelihood projects, case response efforts and empowerment centres; partner with us on mental health, SRHR and economic empowerment; volunteer with Community Development Committees; or advocate for stronger child protection.
